Here's the deal:
When I download files they usually come up corrupt. Usually executables and archives (what else does one really download?). Games and P2P won't work at all. What I mean is, I've tried getting on WoW or other online only games, and I don't so much disconnect from the server as a sort of "lag" out, so that the game stays up and I can move around, but can't really perform any actions that involve communication with the server (including logging out).
I thought that my problem might simply be related to the internet, but I've reinstalled Windows several times, once in an attempt to solve the problem and when I rebooted the Hard Drive was displaying the incorrect amount of space (it's a 300GB hard drive but was displaying something around 178). I tried to make sure that I hadn't accidenlty set up a partition so I reinstalled and it seems to have fixed it's self, strangly enough. Also, I tried to install Oblivion (the only app I had on hand) and it ended up installing but would not run (I recieved an error about a missing file...until just now when I tried to boot it to list the file name and it loaded just fine.
I have an Abit AN8 motherboard so I'm wondering if this may mean a problem with the motherboard or the hard drive. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. Everything else seems to be working, the only noticable problems are the one's I listed above. Any thoughts would be appreciated
