    Hi,
Hoping someone can assist with getting my MSI Laptop to stop dropping Internet connection. It drops periodically while on line then have to wait for the laptop to search and find my home router to be able to reconnect again. laptop is approximately 10ft from the wireless router. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Laptop is a MSI GT70 2OC 065US
    Windows 8.1
    64 Bit

Wireless router is: TP Link 300 Mbps Wireless N ADSL2+Modem Router (Annex B), TD-W8960NB

The first and easiest thing to do is to remove power from your router for about a minute. Then connect the power connector. This resets the router and may clear the issue. It shouldn't reset any setting you have such as SSID and password.

Did you buy the router yourself or is it provided by your ISP and either way how old is it? Sounds like it needs replacement.

I agree Rich-M, I am in the process of looking at getting a replacement. I've posted a new thread to get some ideas as to what would work best. Sorry for the delay in getting back and thank you for the response. J

I have had TP-Link in the past and had nothing but issues with them. Either connectivity issues or failure issues I would second the idea of looking into something new.

And there is a better line of those as well and all they are is more expensive IMHO.
