Vista will only boot to safe mode

Ok I know you guys have heard again and again, "my computer will only
boot in safemode, blah blah blah." And yes I have seen it many times
before but this is the first time I was never given a choice to the
matter. When the computer boots it goes right for safemode even if I
press "F8" select Boot computer normaly and it will still go into
safemode. What is going on any takers?

Repair or re-install. Vista cannot repair it self so either you do it
manually or re-install. have you tried "Last good configuration" yet?

See if you can use System Restore to go back to an earlier state.
Unfortunately this probably will not work. If it does problem solved: try to
remember what you installed that cause the problem or what hardware changes,
including USB peripherals, you made.
You may have a very nasty piece of malware on your machine.

Hello Nightstalker,
Check to see if you can do step 2 in METHOD TWO of the tutorial below
to boot back to normal mode.

Hope this helps,

I tried what you said Shawn, and no luck. It still boots into safe mode
even once I went through msconfig and selected "Normal Startup." And
just for reference I have also tried system restore to several different
dates as well as attempting system repair both with and withought the
Vista installation discs. There has to be an easy answer to this
somewhere.

Another question in regards to this, does it make a difference if you do
system restore using the computer itself or through your recovery cds?
I've gotten mixed messages on this.

Nightstalker,
To be safe, I would recommend that you backup anything that you do not
want to lose in case you end up needing a clean reinstall of Vista.
When you boot up with F8 to the Advanced Boot Options screen, see if
there is a "Last known good configuration" option to select.
Is it giving you any messages before starting up into Safe Mode?
