Wondering if anyone else is able to run these two together.
Getting warnings that the Browser, could crash or freeze.
Had no issues with IE7.
Thanks for any feedback.:)

But hopefully someone will know or will be able to try out this combination and see how they get on for you, if not I'm more than willing to opt to try it out myself if no such luck from anyone else.

So what I found is that if you click on the help button in the command bar, (top right hand side blue circle with a white ?) and click About Internet Explorer it should tell you witch version of IE8 you have.
If it is IE8 Beta then uninstall and update windows, if not get back to us with what IE8 version you have :)
any problems just ask, I'm more than happy to do a step by step walk through for you :)
P.S. did you delete all your photo's while sorting out your trojan, or did you manage to back them up? reason I ask is that they probably would have been safe to transfer to a site like Photobucket to save them and then just have to down load them. sorry I wasn't around to help :(

Did you say Google Toolbar ? :yks:Nah, I didn't think so.... IE 8 and Google toolbar haven't played nicely
together from the beginning but a recent IE 8 update seems to be causing the freezing problem as well as
other issues, some minor, some...not so much.
The IE 8 running in Win 7 RC is much different and a lot more user-friendly.

I have IE8 Version.8.0.601.18702, not beta. I hate Toolbars, but quite liked the GoogleToolbar, with the drop down box search feature, which I used all the time.Definately a conflict between these two.
I can't see a way around it,so will have to do without it.
Would have thought Google would have fixed this issue, with IE8.
Hi Match,My pictures and Documents are on the infected Hard Drive I took out. They can be recovered, but not prepared to put the Hard Drive into another machine to try and retrieve them.(Paranoid)
Been told it quite safe as one is not booting off that Hard Drive, but no way am I going to try that.
Did have a stroke of luck, as I forgot, I had my Documents and Pictures on this old machine,I am using this minute. But they only go up to November 08 when I got the new PC. I am thankful I have found everything up until that date.
I have lost 7mths of Photos and Documents, music Files and Videos, and have decided to cut my losses, dont take any risks, and concentrate on getting my PC sorted.
Thanks everybody, for your advice, and willingness to help.:)

There is little danger involved in this process just scan whatever you are planning to move.

There are a number of fixes on the Net,none of which,I tried.
Had to uninstall SP3 first, then rolled back to IE7.Reinstalled SP3 and all updates, again.(Pain)
I love the Google Search Bar,and it is the only Toolbar, I will have on my Computers.Like the drop down site index, which I find suits my style of surfing.
Too many people, install new programs, without reading what they are installing, and end up with the ASK Toolbar.A big no no for me,anyway.

You are 100% right about that. The Ask Toolbar is the worst and it is included in quite a few programs. The average user just does not realize these things. Read before you click is my Motto.

I.E.8 is the newest Microsoft browser. It was developed for Windows Vista, XP, Windows Server 2003 and 2008. :)
Win 7 RC already includes a pre-release candidate version of Internet Explorer 8 that is optimized for Windows 7 only. ;)

Yes it was developed for Vista, XP and the above listed but I really think it will work best on Windows 7 from everything that I have experienced and read about it. So many people have had issues when updating to IE8 that it really seems to me that it does not fit well with them. Point taken though. :)

Very much the same way that SATA did with XP - XP can use SATA drivers via the F6 option, but again the technology is newer than the OS - as is the case with IE8 - its easier to make software more compatible and thats what they have done with Windows 7
