Hey all,
I'm playing around with HDMI out to a LCD TV.
The set-up works great but I can't figure out how to toggle back and forth from the TV to the desktop monitor.
I'm running XP
Thanks for any help.

Welcome to 1chf jfn111!!:)
To the best of my knowledge there is no native program or hotkey in XP that will allow you to toggle between a monitor and a TV. I believe there is some third party software available but I am in no position to recommend one.
However, if you have your graphics card show an icon in the system tray you can quickly get into properties and switch your display. Go into your control panel and, if you have a separate icon for your graphics card you can set it to show on the system tray.
Our hardware guys may have a better answer later on.

Hey Bee,
I appreciate the help. I can now swap monitors by clicking on the ATI Icon in the tray. :)
A bit more of a pain in the butt then I thought. Swap, save settings, etc.
I was hopeing for a F7 style swap like my laptop but oh well.
Thanks again

Mine is far from the final word on the subject. It is the way I handle it but then I have only done it once or twice. Why not check back later and there may be a better way posted and we can both learn from it. If you want to use dual monitors DSTM has just given me a you tube Video that may help. You will probably want to scan through it since most of it deals with the hardware setup and you are beyond that. However the settings portion may help. However, I repeat, the kid on the video is setting dual monitors not a means of toggling.

Hi jfn111.I just came across this, regarding Toggling between Monitors, using a Laptop.
QUOTE.
"On most laptops, FN + F4 (or the display cycling key combination, if different) will cycle the monitors between:
1. Laptop display only
2. Laptop and external screen (mirror)
3. External screen only."
ENDQUOTE.
HTH.

Hey DSTM,
That's the wierd thing, my Microsoft key board doesn't have a Fn button. I have a Lenovo laptap for work that I use with a projector, for presentations, and Fn with F7 swaps between the laptops monitor and the projector.
The video was pretty good and I did move the number 2 monitor to the left, that's were the TV is, and the mouse works great crossing between the two monitors.

The Fn key is normally found on laptops but not as common on desktop keyboards. My wireless keyboard does not have the key either. Switching displays is a normal occurrence for laptops which are often used for meetings etc.

Would make it so much easier, if you had a Keyboard, with an Fn Key.
Yeah,I thought also, that Video had some useful information.
