Ok well I have a crappy philips sound card that I have been using without any problems. I updated the windows vista service pack 1 then when it restarts my sound is not working. For some reason the FRONT audio plug ins are set to default or something so when I plug in my headphones to the front jacks I can hear sounds. However not all sounds, windows media player plays songs...but I cannot hear anything. But I can hear sounds played off the net through youtube.com and myspace etc.... I basically want to find out how to set all the sounds to play thru my card like they were previously so I can use my speakers!! :(

Make sure you have the most recent drivers and have installed the most ecent codec pack.
