Still having hiccups frequently with Thunderbird Version 1.9.1.3699 (liked the older version better) ... but I see Version 3.0.3 is available with 'tabs' is now available ... has anyone here tried it, I wonder?

I don't know what the objection is to using Windows Live Mail. I tried both when I got the new machine and found it far easier to digest and get used to. Thunderbird gave me fits when trying to import old mail accounts from Outlook Express.

Thanks for the 'heads up' re possible hiccups for Thunderbird Version 3, Doug!
Actually, I've never used 'Windows Live Mail' - shall rummage around in the computer and see if it's built-in along with the Windows XP somewhere, BeeCeeBee!

It is not built in Mara you need to download it. I always used Outlook Express and never had Vista. When I moved to Windows 7 knowing that I needed a mail client I played with both for a few days and eventually discarded Thunderbird.
