Xp Video Issue

Hi

i have a dell inspiron 6000 laptop and had to install a new hard drive with windows xp, i have all the updates and drivers installed except the VGA controller. When i try and install the drivers from my dell disk and also more upto date drivers from the dell website the program starts but after i click next i get a message 'one or more files required for installation are either missing or corupt'

were am i going wrong?

can i just clarify this statment please

are you saying you installed a new hard drive with a copy of XP already installed on it,

or

are you saying you Installed a new hard drive and then installed XP onto it?
