i just built a new destop and everything was going fine and we got to the BIOS no problem
but on one harmless restart, the BIOS didnt want to show up, in fact the monitor displayed no signal and the keyboard wasnt responding
i tried resetting CMOS by switching the jumpers and taking out the battery but still nothing
ill be happy just top see the BIOS screen again
also there is no initial startup beep
I NEED HELP! can anyone help me please!

Mother Board- ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA

Video/Graphics Card- MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi)

Processor- AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core

Hi aznskeetz. Welcome to Computer Help Forums.
Take all the ram out and see if you get a beep.
If no beep then it's possible you haven't got the chip seated correctly.
Remove the cpu and check for bent pins (look carefully) and replace again.
The chip only goes in one way.

i've tried unplugging everything and left it over night and replugging everything back in and still nothing
but im going to try taking out the ram and see what happens
also CPU is perfectly fine because i got it working and evrything was fine (got to the bios menu and was trying to figure out what to do because i was confused from the new interface)
i just think sometrhing is wrong with the mobo but i have no idea what's wrong

Although you have the processor clipped down, my guess is the processor chip isn't in correctly.
The pins are fine and bend easily.If any pins are bent be very careful in straightening them.
Without the chip in correctly you will get nothing on startup.
You have the 4 pin atx connected?
No beeps no keyboard no nothing.

the CPU is fine and installed in correctly
and yes the 4pin atx is connected

Have you got the motherboard speaker attached so you can hear any beeps?

yes, do you know any other ways i can reset my mobo to the original factory settings?

Take the battery out for 5 mins and replace, then go into the bios and set correct time, or go into the bios and set to system defaults.
What type of bios are you running?eg American Megatrends.
Have you installed all chipset drivers off the Mobo disc?

i can't even get to the BIOS, in fact my monitor just reads "no signal"

I presume this is a compatible processor for this Mobo.
Wait for further advice from other techies.
If it's the right CPU then it doesn't seem to be working.IMO.
I would recheck the chip seating.
Try 1 stick of ram in first slot.

if everything else fails im going to get a new mobo but first ijm going to bring it to my local computer repair shop and see what they can do

Were these all new parts used in this build?

A bit late to this but I'll add that while that Motherboard supports the processor you may not have had the correct BIOS version, according to the ASUS site you should have 0815 as your BIOS version, if it started with any number lower than that then there is one problem.

Usually no beep to me would mean something isn't connected properly and in this case it could be anything from the CPU to the sound cable as DSTM mentions, if everything powers up and stays on but you get no signal on the monitor you may have connected it to the wrong port.
Just one thought I have, on my ASUS board the default graphics was the motherboard graphics, so I would assume yours is the same, if you haven't already put the cable into a port on the motherboard rather than your graphics card, as you would need to set your graphics card as the default in the BIOS to plug the monitor into that.
