Hello, I'm new here so hey all hows it going?.
I recently tried moving a folder from desktop to documents using the explorer but i copied the Desktop over instead, now it seams there are 4 desktop folders, its very confusing as none of my folders now show on the desktop just shirtcuts  I have ried moving all the files and folders i want to keep to the documents folder all is fine, then i delete the desktop duplicates, again all is well, refresh the desktop and i get an error:
Location is not available:
c:\Users\Kaplunkt\documents\desktop\desktop\desktop refers to a location that is unavailabe. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are conected to the internet or network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the infomation might have been moved to a different location.
buttons available to click are: ok
Im running Vista and so far its been a good OS no problems until now. any ideas what i can do? my next move is to simply write all my files to some dvds and factory reboot.
Regards Jester
(sorry for any typos my speling is very bad and its late lol)

Hi jester
sounds like you have got yourself in a right pickle
first try
clicking start type C:\users\*Administrator,*youruser_account (choose the one where the problem is)
if thats no good then, hopefully the easiest was to get out of it will be to do a quick system restore, to a point before you messed things up.
hopefully this should sort things out for you but if not, then let us know and we will have to sort things out the hard way by going through and putting things back to where they should be
sounds like you have got yourself in a right pickle
first try
clicking start type C:\users\*Administrator,*youruser_account (choose the one where the problem is)
- in the list of files you should have desktop listed, right click on it and choose properties at the bottom.
- click the previous versions tab,
- hopefully you should have two or three listed choose the oldist one and click the restore button at the bottom
if thats no good then, hopefully the easiest was to get out of it will be to do a quick system restore, to a point before you messed things up.
- click start, type RSTRUI into the search box and press return
- in the popup box that opens click next, and now you should have a list of available restore points,
- choose one that is a time and date before you altered your desk top. (Click on it and highlight it)
- then click next, then finish
hopefully this should sort things out for you but if not, then let us know and we will have to sort things out the hard way by going through and putting things back to where they should be

I'm Glad we helped you get you computer sorted and working, :D how ever when it comes to coding, scripting or programming I'm useless, :o
I see you have already started a new thread in chit chat titled Ajax/PHP head ache, would seem that you have just highlighted the need for a wed design forum ;)
Hope that someone here can help you out with that problem, should be able to as there seems to be some good people around at the moment although a bit busy fixing things and adding and altering things that we keep suggesting ;)
