Hi everybody,
I've got my wife's laptop run thru an ethernet spliter then thru the cable modem. Our main computer runs off windowsxp but the laptop runs off 98 (yes just 98) It has work for a while but the about a week ago I had to take the laptop in for a download at my office. When I got it home the laptop would connect to the main computer but NOT to the internet. My IT guy here said to check the "DNS server" and then left me hanging!! can any body help??

Check network tcp/ip properties. You can add your IP and DNS info there.
